A good laptop would be the one that supports your requirements and fulfill your everyday needs. You can buy a cheaper laptop in which you have everything you want according to your requirements, rather than going for an expensive one. So, if you are going to buy a laptop anytime soon, make sure you consider the following.
Brand
The first question while selecting a laptop that comes into your mind is the brand you’re going to choose. It does not matter because every brand has some specifications or qualities that are better than the other. However, if you’re a newbie, you should go and buy a branded laptop rather than opt for an unbranded one.
Processing Speed
Whenever you buy a laptop, you need to check the processor. The processing speed depends on the number of cores in your system. Nowadays laptops are provided with these processing units that are Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7. The higher the number, the better would be the processing speed.
So, if you need a laptop for hard gaming, it must be minimum i5, and if you want it to run smoothly, i7 would be a better choice.
What are you going to use it for?
If you are buying a laptop just for the purpose of checking emails, reading e-books, working on word, then low specification laptop would be suitable for you and your budget. However, if you want to perform high-performance tasks, then the specifications should be raised accordingly.
What to choose HDD/SSD?
Generally, now the systems come with SSD, as these are more compact, shock resistant and more durable than HDDs. And if you’re going to store ample amount of data then go with 1 TB drives rather than for 500 GB.
Operating systems
Laptops come with either Windows OS or Mac OS X. If you’re a new user, working with Windows will suit you better due to its flexibility. However, if you have worked with the Mac OS earlier then you’ll find more comfort in using the Mac OS.
RAM
Different types of RAMs are available in the market. So the question comes to you, how much RAM you need. If you want to perform just simple operations and not load your laptop with much work then getting a 4 GB will be RAM might be a waste of your money. If you choose 4 GB RAM, to make the most out of it, you need to get a 64-bit processor rather than a 32-bit.
